Marion Bond

Artist Bio: Marion Bond (1900-1965)

Marion Bond was born in Antigonish, and live in Nova Scotia all of her life. At the age of nine, she began to draw and paint in watercolour. She studies at the Nova Scotia College of Art (currently known as the Nova Scotia College of Art and design) and at the Art Student’s League in New York and then studied at Columbia University Teacher’s College, where she acquired her Master of Arts Degree. Bond was known for being a portrait and landscape painter. She was influenced by artists such as Stanley Royle, George Bridgman, and Raymond Neilson, and studied under Marjorie Tozer.
