Roger Savage

Artist Bio: Roger Savage

Roger Savage is a well-known painter and printmaker, who has lived and worked in Nova Scotia for the last four decades. Roger graduated from the Fine Arts program at Mount Allison University, with a BFA in 1963. He studied with Lawren Harris Junior and Alex Colville, who were both members of the Art Department at that time. Following graduation, he undertook post-graduation studies in painting and drawing in Málaga in Spring. Following this, he returned to his home province, and lived and worked in a studio at Three Fathom Harbour on the Eastern Shore. In 1973, he re-located to Liverpool, NS, where he has lived ever since. Roger has traveled extensively in Europe, particularly in Germany and Sweden. Roger has exhibited widely throughout Canada, the United States, and Germany. He has also been the recipient of a number of awards, including an International Cultural Relations Award from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Ottawa.
