Artist Bio: Charles W. Simpson, RCA (1878-1942)

Charles Simpson was born and lived in Montreal. He studied at the Art Association of Montreal under Brymner, Dyonnet, and Cullen. Later he studied at the Art Students League in New York with Bridgman and Clark.

Simpson worked in a variety of media, including etching and exhibited widely in Canada with the Royal Canadian Academy and the Art Association of Montreal. His work is in the National Gallery of Canada, the Montreal Museum of Fine Art, and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
