Artist Bio: Miriam Ramsay Holland (1904 – 1973)
Born in Montréal, Holland studied painting at the École des Baux-Arts in Montréal and at the Art Association of Montréal under Edmond Dyonnet.
Later Holland studied with Charles Hawthorn in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She worked in oil and pastel and painted landscapes, streetscapes and coastal scenes. Holland taught painting at Concordia University in Montréal from 1930 – 1965. Her work was exhibited widely, including with the RCA (1932 – 1951) with the Art Association of Montréal (1930 – 1952).
