Maggie Schmidt-Mandell is a well-known American-born painter living in Nova Scotia. She was born in New York in 1941, and studied fine art and education at the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. She also studied printmaking at the University of Massachusetts, MA. Following graduation, Maggie taught art, as well as working as a fine artist. She exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions in Canada and the United States, and her work is represented in many corporate and private collections, including the Bank of Nova Scotia, Reader’s Digest, and the private collection of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
